Project Description – The bullet trap for this shooting range is made of 1/2" AR400 plates that are set at an angle and direct the bullets through a crack between the plates and stop the bullets and drop the lead onto a conveyor to be carried out for disposal.
Application - We installed a sloping layer of Belzona 4131 to create a ramp to deflect any bullets that hit in that area up into the trap.

Problem - .When bullets hit the concrete just in front of the steel plates the concrete was being blown away and leaving holes. If this problem was not addressed it would lead to the possibility of a bullet being able to get under the trap and possibly escape the range creating a safety hazard.
Solution - We installed a sloping layer of Belzona 4131 to create a ramp to deflect any bullets that hit in that area up into the trap. After 1 1/2 years in service there is no deterioration of Belzona 4131.

Product Detail - A non-porous, 2-part epoxy repair composite designed for resurfacing and protecting large areas of concrete, stone and many other surfaces. This solvent free material provides excellent chemical and abrasion resistance and protection from impact and environmental attack.
Far stronger than concrete, Belzona 4131 (Magma-Screed) can be used as a repair material or to provide an extra strong top layer to existing concrete areas. In addition, it meets the USDA requirements for incidental food contact as it offers a safe and hygienic surface.
This simple to apply material is easy to mix and can be applied by trowel without the need for specialist tools.
